'Alice!' – on the hottest, sweatiest day of the year

Doing an extra long dress rehearsal and two full-length shows on the hottest weekend of the year was a crazy, exhausting experience – but somehow, The Academy gang pulled it off! These pictures speak for themselves – and below, our audience have their say too!

Amazing show! Lovely to see all your hard work and that of the children had spectacular results.

Extremely clever the way the Beatles songs were matched perfectly with each scene.

All the children did brilliantly and expressed so much talent – thanks to the teachers and extreme dedication and your relentless work...

We thank you so much for giving these children the opportunity to enjoy and perform such a wonderful production of Alice.

Just wanted to say how wonderful we thought 'Alice' was and how amazingly it was produced, from the stunning set and costumes down to the beautiful little programme.

The kids are so lucky to have the chance to be involved in such a professional production and we are lucky to be able to watch them perform and enjoy themselves so much.

Just wanted to congratulate you on another stellar show. You took on a very ambitious project and pulled it off with gusto!

The staging, costumes and script were fantastic, I overheard many of the audience commenting on how impressed they were.

The use of the ‘shadow’ curtain provided some very memorable and powerful images and the inter- linking of the four Alice’s worked extremely well.

Of course, what really matters is whether the young actors enjoyed themselves, they clearly did, the beaming faces and pride leaving the stage door spoke for themselves.
